Last Christmas I gave you my heart...

This film makes my day.

Monday 13 December 2010

For today I am a wild creature...

I am going to get a pug one day.
He shall be called Sir Stanley Wuffington-Pugmore
He shall be a snappy dresser.

The wheels are falling off the world...

anyone want to tell me anything they know
about any of these films/play?

Sit down, you're rockin' the boat!

Hi again.

Just had a break from essay writing
/article reading
/general planning
/highlighting.
Still fixated on NYFA.
So had another look at flights.
(I know, 2 and a half years away,
But it doesn't hurt to be prepared!)

Travelsupermarket.com
Genius.
For £330,
I could fly to Rome from Heathrow,
And then to LAX.

8 HOUR HOLIDAY IN ROME.
WHO NEEDS TO SLEEP?!
Brilliant!

Ok, quit dreaming,
Get back to essay writing.

Arrrrrrrggggggghhhhhhhhh...

Sunday 12 December 2010

They love the laughter and they love the living...

Demons will charm you with a smile for a while...

Ah gosh, I have been neglecting this, haven't I?
I do apologise.

Coursework crazy at the moment!
1 x 2000 word essay

1 x 2500 word essay
1 x portfolio + 1000 word essay

All due for Tuesday 14th December.

ALMOST THERE!

I keep dreaming about New York Film Academy.
I figure I need something to work towards,
So I'm going to put up some pictures of NYFA.
So I can keep inspired.

I know it's a lot of money to get out there,
The course fee alone is around £48 000.
Plus the cost of accommodation,
General living costs,
It's advised to get a car out there,
So American driving lessons,
General travel fees,
(A single flight to LAX starts around £800)
Plus things to buy out there that I can't take.

Sell a kidney?

I'll find a way.
Even if I don't spend ANY money
Between now and September 2013.
I'll be able to save £50 000 right?
Right?

I don't care,
it's my dream

I'll get there somehow...

Anyway,
Few days until I go home for Christmas!
Looking forward to a Christmas at home home this year!
Just got to keep fighting through this coursework.
Blah.

Better get back to it.
It's calling me now with its evil eyes.

Ciao ciao x

Tuesday 30 November 2010

Snow is falling all around us...

Snow has finally arrived in Cambers!
Christmas decorations and lights have gone up all around town,
My mum bought my advent calendar over on Sunday,
It's all very festive!

Saw Beckett's Krapp's Last Tape at the Duchess in London a couple of weeks ago, starring Michael Gambon.
Truly fantastic,

And so pleased we got to see it before the run finished!

BIG NEWS:
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 IS OUT!
And I love it! It's brilliant!
Cannot wait for the next film, so excited!
And also really sad!
It really will be the end!

I went to a pub quiz with some friends the other night.
It was great fun!
Will try and post some footage at some point.
We didn't win OR lose! Wahoo!

University seems to have messed up my sleep patterns.
I now cannot seem to go a whole day without falling asleep.
And then I'm still wide awake at 2am.
Trying to force myself to stay awake during the day.
It's very difficult.

We went for a midnight frolic in the snow last night!
It was wonderful and so so beautiful!

Cambridge is such a fantastic place to be.

I am also writing a new play/musical/adaptation.
I will perhaps post more as it goes along.
We shall see.

Anyway, must return to essays...

Wednesday 10 November 2010

We wish we were kids...

So I am writing my screen play for Visualisation, Research and Storyboarding,
And I decided to have a little break and update on life!

Uni is still FAB.
Although the cleanliness of my flatmates has been a bit of an issue over the past couple of days.
I left a note in one of the toilets reminding them to flush the toilet as we are not children.
The general state of the worktops is not always the best.
But there we go.
I think I'm going to turn into that flatmate that leaves post-it notes EVERYWHERE.

I recently watched Little White Lie, a youtube series by Team Star Kid,
(The same people who created the AMAZING 'A Very Potter Musical', 'A Very Potter Sequel' and 'Me & My Dick'!)
It has a fab soundtrack, which I have downloaded and have playing most of the time.
And its really great!
BRING ON SEASON 2!!

I'm going to sort out my other blog as well at some point,
And continue with operation tidy room.
As well as finishing this darn screenplay.

Have fun! x

Sunday 31 October 2010

'Cause somebody told me there were cherry blue skies

I think we should just face facts,
And realise I will never update this regularly.

Ok.
So now that's established.

I LOVE CAMBRIDGE.
I am meant to be here, I'm sure of it.

However, it is late so this will be snappy.

I have been inspired by Guillermo Del Toro.
I will keep a pretty notebook with me at all times,
And write down things that are interesting or inspiring.
Hello future director.

Now to find a notebook...

And sleep.

Saturday 2 October 2010

Colour my heart, make it restart...

Oh my gosh.
So much for keeping up with this, huh?!
Arrgh...

So, I am officially settled in at Anglia Ruskin!
Studying for a BA (Hons) in Drama and Film Studies!
My course is really exciting and my tutors are really interesting!
Feel like the seminars aren't long enough!
My room is really lovely, feels very homely already, and my flatmates are all really nice.
We all seem to get on well - Lisa and I had a chocolate pudding earlier today! Can't go wrong there!
I've met some lovely people, some on my course, some not.

Feel like I've been too busy to miss people!
Of course there are those that I couldn't not miss being away from home,
It does feel like I've been here forever already! Although it's only been 2 and a half weeks.
Cambridge is such a wonderful city, lots of interesting little places.
Definitely going to make an effort to head down to the river and do some touristy things,
At least before it gets too cold!

Saturday: I have spent the day entirely in my pyjamas!
It's definitely a sight my flatmates have to get used to!
Have been chillaxing, looking through some of my reading, chatting to people, taking it easy!
I've started my collage on Identity that I have to do for my Visualisation, Research and Storyboarding class.
It's looking pretty good already!
I've posted some of my edited photos on facebook, will try and get them on here as well.
Ultimately, I'm going to have to come up with a film from this,
So I've been trying to go through some ideas in my head.
Guess I'll just have to wait and see!

Think it's about time that I got something else to eat.
Student eating has not been as bad as people think!
Yes, there have been microwaveables, supernoodles and cup-a-soups!
But tonight I'm feeling a baked potato...
My friend Louise cooked a toad in the hole last week,
Oh my gosh we ate vegetables! It was like a real, proper meal!

Anyway.
I shall make an effort to actually keep up with this.
Although I say that every time!

Ciao,
Hatti x

Friday 17 September 2010

I've been looking, for you, all over the town in the clubs and the crowds

Ah gosh, it has been a while hasn't it?

I'M IN CAMBRIDGE!
Hello ARU!

Well, I'll do a proper update later tonight or tomorrow - I've had a department meet today and now I'm off for coffee with a friend from Norwich, as well as buying books and majorly job-hunting!

Sunday 29 August 2010

You said you wasn't sad to see her go... But of course you were...

Ok, so if you haven't figured it out by now, all my post titles are song lyrics. A bit of a 'scene' thing to do, I know, but its generally just the last song I listened to or one that's stuck in my head - it's easier than thinking up something witty or just a generally descriptive title!

Countdown continues: 2 weeks, 3 days.

So I am already in debt to my Uni, and term hasn't even started... Yay! Ahh.

Still writing the scripts. No idea when or if we'll actually get to finish filming. I hope we do. Hope.

Not much to update. My mum made jam.

Yeah I think that's about it.

Cheerio,
Hatti

Wednesday 25 August 2010

Hermione can't draw, Hermione can't draw!

Please, if you haven't, watch A Very Potter Musical and A Very Potter Sequel. It is important to your cultural life and humour. That and the fact that I cry with laughter every time! Team Star Kid I am in awe of you all!

Ok, so I missed a day yesterday (bad sign) but here I am on day four, well technically five because it's past midnight, which is why this will be short.

Went to a clothes swap evening with some friends! It was so lovely, and although I didn't take anything with me, I think I left with the biggest bag! Hehe. All wonderful things that will fit beautifully with my new Cambridge setting in September! Hehe.

Still packing things for Cam!

COUNT DOWN: 21 DAYS TO GO! 3 WEEKS!

Wow, its really soon!

Anyway. Even my cat has fallen asleep, so I think I should too. Toodle oo for now, will post again tomorrow/later in the day.

Sunday 22 August 2010

Baby you're not alone, 'cause you're here with me!

Day 2, and I'm still here!

COUNTDOWN: 24 days

Have been working some more on my scripts and screenplays. Have cast a few of the characters, for one of the principals I'm stuck between two people for one role, but we shall have to wait and see!

I put out a casting call last night on my facebook group*, and have had one reply for a role, which is really good because I was completely stuck with who to cast in it!

More uni prep - I've now got some notepads for september! Wahoo! And I've even got some exercise books for screenplay/script writing as well! Add that to my trunk!

I was talking to my friend earlier about starting uni, and the sad thing is, I'm never going to be doing music again! After GCSE Music and BTEC Music Performance in Singing for A Level, I have no reason to do music again. But there we go! I'll always keep up the singing I think, especially with gospel choir!

Ahh the exclamation marks are back again...

A lady at the checkout in the supermarket the other day said Star Wars isn't as good as Shrek. Interesting. I'm not that big a fan of Star Wars (shock horror) but I don't know if it can really be compared to Shrek... Favourite film of the moment: Inception. Oh my gosh, go and see it if you haven't. It's utterly amazing. Best film of the year! Massively looking forward to Scott Pilgrim vs. The World as well! Love love love Kick Ass, so I'm enjoying this trend of comic book movies at the moment.

I've set up a blog for my film stuff, so I'll post a link on here and try and keep up with it maybe. And maybe a twitter as well. Although I am hopeless with Twitter. Ah, we'll see!

I'm off to edit more film.
Cheerio,
Hatti.

Saturday 21 August 2010

Stars fading but I linger on dear...

Hello.
I keep promising myself that I will stick to one of these one day, so here is my start! Again!

Uni plans are all going swimmingly! I got the grades I needed for Anglia Ruskin, and almost doubled the amount of UCAS points they asked for! Moving in on Wed. 15th September, but there's a freshers thing for people on my course like an hour before I'm scheduled to move in, so hopefully that can be sorted out somehow! Anyway!

COUNTDOWN TO MOVE IN: 25 days!

So I'm slowly getting prepared, sorting out files of things I think might be useful to what I'm studying, putting things to take with me in my trunk - yes, trunk!! At the moment, my Harry Potter-stylee trunk is filled with two pairs of harem pants, a tea pot (I don't drink tea), a couple of towels, a nice pen, and a Wizard of Oz chalkboard. I think I'm well prepared! At least Cambridge isn't too far from home, so I can always pop back and get anything I've forgotten!

Filming prep is going well! We shot 3 of 15 scenes on monday, and I've started editing - its all looking good! One might need to be redone, but it's only a short scene - the battery on my camera died just as we finished it, so it was all a bit rushed and I didn't get the shots I really wanted. But the other two scenes are fab!

I'm writing another screen play - an attempt at comedy, ooh er... I can't write comedy, I can't devise comedy, so this will be interesting... But I told my friend the plot line, and he laughed (an actual laugh) so it might not be too bad!

Seeking out some actors and extras for a couple of films as well, hope that goes alright!

Have storyboarded one, but I don't know if I'm really feeling it. I might start filming and see how it goes. If not, it can always be rewritten and remade another time!

I just realised I have ended every paragraph with an exclamation mark. I must be enthusiastic today.

Anyway, now off to eat some ice cream! (and there's another)
Toodle oo,
Hatti.
